7.17 - Gilmore Girls Only (148)
Review by Craig Best (aka Lancer1993)

I'm keeping these shorter this time to about a page full but we'll see how it goes.

I really liked this episode, for the first time is a long while it is feeling more like the Gilmore of old. The three Gilmore ladies work great together and to have Mia in a way bring Lorelai and Emily closer was great. The only down side to the whole Mia meeting is not one mention of Luke, she knew him as a kid. I know it's a "Gilmore Girls Only" episode but 5 seconds is all that was needed. The episode was about letting go for Lorelai and thinking what is gonna happen when Rory goes of to work, maybe in a far off city.

Thanks to opposites-are-polar.net for the screen cap
As for the rest of the stories, well we had Logan leaving the Mitchum Group after quitting his job, I like that Rory pulled him into action by telling him he was a jerk. It was great he took this to heart and left daddy and then told Rory. I would have preferred him to wait for Rory to get home but it kinda worked going to Mia's wedding and she was proud of him.

We also had Luke getting closer to Lane and Zach, apart from some awkward moments at the dinner the scenes were okay but maybe stretched out a bit. Good to see Luke helping out Zach, to get him into him daddy mode. And he is also the babies godfather now, which should be interesting.

The only other down side of the episode was Rory was not at the birth, but the final scene with the three girls watching a movie was great, who knows maybe Lorelai will go over to watch movies with Emily in the future. I just wish we had a hospital scene with Luke, the twin and Lorelai.

Best lines
ZACH: Yeah she's like a giant piñata, just waiting for some kid to take a mallet to her stomach and free the goodies inside.

LUKE: I'm thinking a doctor might be a better way to go.
ZACH: We have to make a decision as soon as the boys are born, and I'm really on the fence about it. I thought about having Mrs. Kim weigh in, but her opinion would be kind of hypothetical 'cause she doesn't have the goods, as far as I know.
LANE: I've got my mom, but she's not so much a family member as she is a probation officer.

Best scenes
Sad - Some of the moments where Emily looked on at Lorelai and Mia hugging.

Funny - The window car scene and Zach getting the call from Lane.
