7.03 - Lorelai's First Cotillion - (134)
Review by Craig Best (aka Lancer1993)

I'm keeping these shorter this time to about a page full but we'll see how it goes.

I really don't know what to think of Lorelai anymore, she doesn't go to check out the diner now it's opened again, and just 3 weeks after telling Luke she loves him she now calls Chris. Also the realization is a clear plot device to get Lorelai to be with Chris.

I liked that Lane and Zach are both freaked out about the baby and it was nice to see Rory helping her. Also it's know that at least one of the Lorelai's is grown up enough to work things out and talk to her boyfriend, her mother should take some lessons.

Thanks to opposites-are-polar.net for the screen cap
So FND is back on and the girls sound like they are back in their old rhythm but I still feel something is missing, nice that Lorelai has not forgotten about Luke yet but it's was typical Lorelai "me me me" when Emily and Richard didn't want to talk about Luke and the breakup.

Lorelai wants to change, which is a good thing but to now reevaluating her whole life based on what her mother doesn't say about her latest breakup is just a way to bring Chris back into Lorelai's life and make it plausible. What happened to the last 2 episodes where she told Rory it was a one off deal with Chris, a mistake and not gonna happen again?

Moving on to Rory who is having a hard time being away from Logan and I don't know if I like the idea of Rory texting dirty messages to Logan, but the ladies seamed to like a shirtless Logan on screen.

Luke has opening the diner and it's a low keep event just a small banner on the window and a couple of balloons, I was disappointed that April and Anna were not there give that Anna was at the opening 13 years ago. But I did like Rory went into Luke's and was the only one to notice his new cap.

Lane and Zach both freaking out at the thought of a baby was nice in a way, showing they are on the same page, I have to wonder how long Brian will live with them though.

What happened with the dinner Rory and Chris had, it seamed like a waist of a scene not to have them talk on screen and make Rory's feeling known to Chris about what happened.

Best lines
RORY: No, I haven't, actually, but I had a coming-out party.

LORELAI: And I totally supported her decision. She shouldn't have to hide her love for women.

EMILY: Lorelai, there's nothing funny about being a lesbian.

(NOTE: I've been waiting for that line from Lorelai since Presenting Lorelai Gilmore in season 2)

Best scenes
Sad - Final scene with Lorelai calling Chris, yeah her heart really looked into it!

- FND with Lorelai trying to get Emily and Richard to comment on her breaking up with Luke.

My Rating
7.5 out of 10
