"“We’ve Got Magic To Do”" ((TV-PG, L) (HDTV))
WHAT A SWELL PARTY THIS IS —Rory (Alexis Bledel) does a fabulous job organizing a big DAR bash for Emily (Kelly Bishop). However, at the party, Richard (Edward Herrmann) confronts Logan’s (Matt Czuchry) father, Mitchum Huntzberger (guest star Gregg Henry), about his opinion of Rory’s journalistic talents, while Emily has an even uglier confrontation with Logan’s mother, Shria (guest star Leann Hunley), over the romance between Rory and Logan. Meanwhile, after a small kitchen fire at the Dragonfly Inn, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) needs Richard’s help settling the insurance claim and uses the time spent with her father to needle him about the fact that he has been unable to get Rory to return to Yale. Though he’s annoyed with Lorelai, Richard has to admit that Rory is not where she should be. Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star. Michael Zinberg directed the episode written by Daniel Palladino

  • Luke and Lorelai have a Italian meal at home with PA.
  • Paris is out of money and gets a job from Rory.
  • Rory is organizing a 1940's event, Paris is serving food. Rory is dressed in a woman's uniform, complete with hat, at the party. The DAR women and guests are just dressed up in formal wear.
  • Logan's mother arrives uninvited, Rory is mad.
  • There's a recital at Miss Patty's (kids singing and dancing).
  • The stove in the Dragonfly Inn kitchen was all black and sooty. Looked like a fire, but I don't have any confirmation of when or what may have happened.

Updated September 2nd, 2005 - We only have sides for the middle third of the episode and most of them revolve around Rory and the 1940's party, maybe to raise money for some charity.

Luke and Lorelai are getting into a nice rhythm at home. Luke is cooking an Italian meal and PA is there.

There is some kind of kids party, IMO at the Dragonfly Inn and Lorelai and Sookie are not liking what the kids are doing.

The sides are out but no link is available, but a recap of them can be found here.
